Mission accomplished?

Applause please....It's 1:29 pm and I've accomplished everything on my list I had to do today.  Which was mostly errands but still having everything done in one day, muchless by early afternoon is certainly a feat for me.  Here's a list of things I have also taken care of even though it wasn't on my list:
  •  Cleaned up the hashbrowns that one of the kids put in the dog kennel.
  • Unloaded (but not set up yet) the two illuminated deer that go in the front yard as Christmas decoration.  They've been riding in the van for about four days.
  • Unloaded a bag of oranges out of the van that have also been riding along with us for a few days as well.  (Yes, with 2 and sometimes 3 kids I don't always have room in my arms to carry everything in.  But I'm definitely thankful for a vehicle that can safely hold lots of cargo.)
  • Changed the ringtone on my phone to a Christmas carol.
That's 4 things!!!! I'm pretty ecstatic.  Now to be a super overachiever and tackle the daunting task of unloading the dishwasher and filling it up again.  Still haven't gotten all the laundry done from our trip down to the valley but I'm excited because with being out of town and such the house has stayed pretty clean lately.

I've also been wanting to share a Lillie quote with everyone.  The other night I tucked Lillie into bed, gave her a kiss after reading her a chapter of her Taylor Swift book.  And as I'm walking towards the door she informs me "When I grow up, I'm going to Paris, France.  And, I will know how to do the Easy Bake oven."  It made me laugh and Rick couldn't help but smile and give a little chuckle as well.  But it reminded me how extravagant a small act or project can be.  I feel like we all get so caught up in life sometimes we forget about the little things.  So, once again I'm asking you to think of one thing to be thankful for, ESPECIALLY during this holiday season.  Today, I'm also thankful for the dark furniture we have in our living room, so when Landon tipped his plate of hash-browns over on the couch and then proceeded to eat the small pieces of potatoes, I knew I could wipe it up but the little speckles of grease won't show after patting it and spot cleaning it.

Well have a fantastic day everyone, and as always, thanks for reading,
<3 Timmie

Leftovers!?!?!?

Honestly, I've never really been the biggest fan of em, but have gotten really good at it in my adult life. I'm pretty selective when it comes to what I'll eat the next day, some things are definitely out of the question. But others, such as my husbands corned beef and hash, end up better the next day. The left over corned beef from the other night and split pea soup I made from scratch will be tonight's soup and sandwich dinner. From the store, I picked up some sub buns, Swiss cheese, an onion to saute, and thousand island dressing since that seems to be something some people put on their Reuben sandwiches. I'll toast the buns in the over on broil, slice the beef and place it on the bread, saute the onion and after all of it is piled on the bun, I'll slide some Swiss right on and melt it by putting the sandwiches back in the oven for a minute or two. I will do a salad with lettuce and dark, leafy greens, tomatoes, carrots, and cucs as well. Then maybe slice an apple since our family is trying to increase the fruits and veggies in our diets. I never make a separate meal for Lillie and Landon just because I think it is important for them to be exposed to different foods, to help them be more adaptive and accepting of various things in life and I definitely do not want them having the expectation when we go somewhere else or are visiting friends. Plus, most of the things they are slightly hesitant of eating at first, end up being some of their favorites. Anyway, I'm pretty excited for the last meal of today and trust that if anything hilarious is said or something obscure happens I'll be posting about it tomorrow.

Thanks for reading,

Ahhhhhh......Christmas time!

So, Lillie and I went out this evening to Walmart to grab a couple strings of lights for our tree after the Black Friday madness eased up. It went a little like this, we walked swiftly into the store, walked over to the craft section to pick up a gift for her friend, Madeleine, whose birthday party we are attending tomorrow. So as we are trying to hustle around getting various items to complete a meal or two, I'm doing my best to concentrate and not get lured in to those impulse purchases all around me. So we get up to the register, check out and make a mad dash to the van only to get out there realizing we forgot the one thing we went over for. Yep, you  guessed it, so we whipped a U-y and headed back inside, found the lights, at which point Rick called asking for more chip dip, which of course was in the other end of the store so we shuffled over to the dairy sections since he likes the Dean's French Onion best.  Then two hours later we walked in the door at home with arms overflowing.  I didn't think I'd go out on that dreaded commercialized day, but I guess I thought I'd be brave and tough it out.  Lol, oh well and there you have it, the reason why I will stay home next year ;)
